Gator Youth Cheerleaders

  • GYFC Cheerleading program is a non-competitive team that provides athletic opportunities for beginners to experienced cheerleaders. Our programs have no cutting of squads and no tryouts. The Gator Youth Cheer  program is focused on the traditional role of cheerleading. At this time the cheerleading program exclusively participates at GYFC football games and local community events in the South Jersey area.

The goal of our cheer program is to inspire leadership on and off the field.  We believe cheerleaders play a very important role at events and games. As a cheerleader your child will boost team spirit, promote good sportsmanship, develop positive crowd involvement and help participants and spectators enjoy an outstanding time. Providing a wholesome, enjoyable experience for the youth in our community, while teaching the fundamentals and techniques of cheerleading includes: cheers, motions, tumbling, stunting and dancing.

FEES: We are able to keep registration fees low with help from our generous sponsors and fundraising support. The registration fee for 2023  is $75 registration and $75 for uniforms. There will be a $25 dollar refund when uniform is turned in good condition.

Uniforms: Parents are responsible for purchasing white cheer sneakers. All uniforms will be shipped to GYFC to eliminate shipping cost and distributed before the first game.

Cheerleader Eligibility Details:  GYFC cheerleaders range in age from 5-14 years old. To ensure a safe and positive environment, each cheerleader is placed on a squad based on age. These teams may be combined or adjusted based on seasonal registration, skill level and maturity of the athlete.

NO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS- GYFC cheerleaders may come from any town or location. To ensure that participating youth are afforded the best opportunities, GYFC may refer Gateway Regional High School students to the high school coach for eligibility review. Children who are not eligible or able to cheer at Gateway Regional High School may be allowed to participate if all other eligibility requirements are met.
